Design met Gent

From January to March, local residents, schoolchildren, students and designers worked together to design new creations inspired by Design Museum Gent's collection.

At the closing party, we will show the results and celebrate with cake and workshops!

Creative workshops:

• Screen print your own design on textiles (in collaboration with DRAAD).
• Make a stamp, design a flower or draw your own version of a collection piece.
• Design a drawing for on an Easter egg

Discover the results of Design with Ghent: Macharius-Heirnis!

• Third-grade students at Freinetschool Het Trappenhuis learned to work with ceramics under the guidance of designer Louise Daneels.
• Local residents made beautiful patches of textile for a lampshade during the ‘Illuminate the neighbourhood’ evenings, together with students from Design for Impact.
• Animations created by local residents and Camilla Del Fabro.
• Stamps, models, vases and flowers designed by local residents, in collaboration with students from the Educational Master of Design Sciences.
