Hortensia Chair ^2018-2019

Reisinger used CGI (computer-generated imagery) to make a digital image of a chair covered with pink flower petals. When he put it on Instagram, it quickly went viral – he was even getting orders for it. He then decided to find out if he could actually make the chair. With his team, he developed a series of laser-cut polyester modules. Each module has the shape of a hydrangea (sometimes called ‘hortensia’) petal. He then covered the upholstery with thousands of these modules. Thus, a digital object became a functional piece of furniture.
