Aliki van der Kruijs NL
textile
This work is part of a broader study about colour movement. Aliki van der Kruijs created a Pantone colour chart, a tool often used by graphic designers and printers, on a piece of silk. Then, she sprinkled one part of it with water in a deliberate way. This caused the colours to bleed and mix with each other, creating new hues and unseen nuances. Typically, Van der Kruijs plans her work carefully, but always leaves room for uncontrollable, spontaneous occurrences.
