Off the Grid
To mark the launch of Off the Grid: Histories of Belgian graphic design, editor Sara De Bondt invites authors and contributors to share personal highlights from the book. Confirmed speakers include Jo De Baerdemaeker, Jan Ceuleers, Katrien Van Haute, Pia Jacques and Leroy Meyer (Belgian Institute Graphic Design), Herman Lampaert, Jean-Michel Meyers, Hilde Pauwels, Hugo Puttaert, and Katarina Serulus.
Off the Grid offers a collaborative panorama of Belgian graphic design history, with new writing by scholars and practising designers on such topics as type design, colonisation and labour relations. The book contains hundreds of previously unpublished reproductions of posters, signage, typography, packaging, book design, logos and ephemera.
The book is published by Occasional Papers with support from KASK – School of Arts, Design Museum Gent and Flemish Architecture Institute.
