The Sense of Colour
How designers work with colour
A Finnish-Belgian perspective
How does colour affect a space or an object? What is the impact of colour on our environment and the way we perceive things?
The exhibition Kleureyck focuses on the origin and impact of colour. Some 100 design pieces demonstrate how light, matter and patterns have an effect on colour.
But how do designers themselves handle this? What kind of role do they give to colour? Is colour mainly visual or rather functional? Is a design allowed to change colour because a trend watcher suggests a different colour palette? And does a designer from the far north approach colour differently from a Belgian designer? We ask these and other questions to designers Linda Bergroth (FI), Doorzon Interieurarchitecten (BE), Lionel Jadot (BE) and Tuomas Siitonen (FI).
