Open Call: Makersmarkt
On Sunday 4 October 2026, we are taking over the streets around the museum for our very first Design Makers Market. We’re bringing together 60 designers, makers, and creative entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their designs to all our visitors. Will you be there?
Who are we looking for?
Are you a maker, designer, or creative entrepreneur? Do you design and create your own objects, products, or limited editions driven by craftsmanship, design, experiment, or sheer creativity? Then you are exactly who we're looking for!
Welcomed with open arms:
- Product design, ceramics & jewellery
- Illustration, graphics, prints & zines
- Textiles & artisanal creations
- Home decor, accessories & small furniture
The Design Makers Market is definitely not a flea market or a secondhand market. We're happily skipping vintage, thrift, mass production, or commercial resale.
All the practical stuff
- When: Sunday 4 October 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00.
- Where: In the cosy streets surrounding Design Museum Gent.
- Your stall: We’ve got you covered! We will provide a table (220 × 50 cm) and a bench.
- Participation: We ask for a small contribution of €15. As a big thank you, you’ll receive a free ticket to come and explore the brand-new museum during the first few months after our grand reopening!
How do we select?
There is room for a maximum of 60 stallholders. To make the market extra exciting, we’re aiming for a beautiful mix of young talent and established names, with a warm heart for local makers. We select based on originality, quality, and true, authentic craftsmanship.
