Workshop: Making the Invisible Visible
Light, Data & Hidden Frequencies
What if you could see the invisible?
This three-part hands-on workshop explores the hidden frequencies all around us—vibrations, electromagnetic fields, and environmental data we can’t perceive directly. Using Arduino microcontrollers and simple sensors, participants will capture these frequencies and transform them into responsive light patterns.
We’ll also look at light not just as technology, but as biology. Light affects our sleep, hormones, and emotions—it shapes how we feel and function. Through interactive projects, we’ll reconnect with light’s impact and explore how technology can reattune us to the invisible rhythms of our environment and bodies.
This workshop is part of a collaborative project with artists Valentine Maurice and Gatien Viste and Nerdlab, whose work explores sensory systems and the unseen. Valentine’s work is currently on view at Wintercircus as part of a broader investigation into light, perception, and health.
