Glad to see you again!
The museum has reopened. Finally we’ll be able to show you the new exhibition Kleureyck. The museum is currently only open for visits by individuals or with your family during normal opening hours.
We have worked hard to make your museum visit as smooth and safe as possible. To this end, we have taken a number of measures. Read below what this means for your visit.
Before your visit
Buy your ticket in advance. That’s the only way to visit the museum.
To limit the number of people in the museum, you’ll have to choose a time slot. Show up at the time indicated on your ticket.
For questions about your reservation, please call +32 9 210 10 75 (weekdays 9:00–12:30 and 13:30–16:00).
Can’t buy an online ticket? Make your reservation by phone on +32 9 210 10 75 (weekdays 9:00-12:30 and 13:30-16:00). You can pay for your tickets cashless and preferably contactless at the museum desk.
If you have a smartphone, take it with you to the museum. Make sure your phone is fully charged.
Do not bring any bags or backpacks. The cloakroom of the museum is only on request.
It is recommended to wear a mouth mask, to guarantee your safety, the safety of our staff and of other visitors.
During your visit
We scan your e-ticket from your smartphone or from a printed copy at the entrance of the expo.
We recommend that you read the visitor’s guides on your smartphone at www.designmuseumgent.be/en/tours. There is free wifi in the museum.
If you do take a paper booklet (like the children’s quest Colourful Fun), don’t put it back. It’s a gift from us!
There are toilets for museum visitors. They are cleaned regularly.
Keep a distance of 1.5 m from other visitors and the museum staff. We have planned a route for you.
Use the alcohol gel provided. We have pre-emptively closed off all interactive elements.
Any payments in the museum or shop should be made cashless and preferably contactless.
How to protect yourself and others?
- Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water
- Cough or sneeze in a paper handkerchief or in the inside of your elbow
- Use paper handkerchiefs and dispose of them in a lockable wastebin
- Stay home if you’re sick
- Touch your face as little as possible with your hands
- Avoid giving hands
- Avoid close contact with others who are ill
Do I have to order a ticket if I can enter for free?
Yes, in order to spread the flow of visitors, everyone needs to book a time slot. We have separate free tickets for visitors with a museum pass, with a VMV, ICOM, guide or press card, with a laissez-passer, for accompanying persons with disabilities and for citizens of Ghent on Sundays.
What about my combination ticket Van Eyck - Kleureyck?
The exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts (MSK) is closed. If you bought a combination ticket for a visit during this period, you have already been personally contacted by the MSK.
Together with your Van Eyck ticket you also bought a ticket for the exhibition Kleureyck. This part of the ticket remains valid for a visit until 21 February 2021. Would you like to visit the exhibition with your combination ticket? Book a time slot by calling +32 9 210 10 75 (weekdays 9:00–12:30 and 13:30–16:00). Bring both the booking confirmation and your ticket with you to the museum.
