This work refers to the inside of things, in this case, the inside of stones such as agate, jasper or onyx. Except that they are not real stones, but ­objects in trompe l’oeil. They represent the frantic attempts of the artist to translate the intensity, the beauty and the in­accessibility of nature and its mysteries. They are translated here into useful objects: a writing table or a shelf.
