Muller Van Severen made the wire s series for Solo House, a holiday home in Spain with a remarkable architecture, designed by OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen. The reclining furniture is an exercise in balancing transparency and strength: how delicate can you make the parts without letting the grid giving way? The grids bring an additional complexity: an enormous number of welding points. Muller Van Severen used a mattress as the starting point for this design, and then folded this basic shape.
