Guided Tour
Do you think design is only about beautiful chairs? Think again. Behind every object is an idea, a story and sometimes a powerful statement. In this tour, your students will discover how designers respond to the world of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
We delve into current issues such as the climate crisis, social inequality and digitisation. By linking historical context to contemporary challenges, young people learn to take a critical look: why was something made, what impact did it have on us and how do we look at it differently today?
Students will discuss with each other the choices a designer makes and how those choices influence them. They discover that they are not only users, but also shaping the world of tomorrow. We challenge them to form their own opinions, to argue and to listen to each other. As such, together we discover how creativity provides answers to the major questions of the day.
