Guided tour
Are we sitting on a chair, or on a genius idea? Behind every seat in our museum is a world of technology, material and entrepreneurship.
On this tour, your students will discover the technical innovations in design history: from the first plastic chair from a single fluid form to state-of-the-art 3D printing. They learn to look at objects with a designer's eyes. How do you connect materials without breaking them? How does technology determine the shape of our furniture? And what does the chair of the future look like?
The highlight of the visit: not only looking but also feeling and, of course, trying out some iconic chairs. Students will explore how designers act as veritable inventors, making our world a little more beautiful and comfortable every day. A learning experience that really brings the theory of design history within reach.
